MARC JOLLIFFE

Marc Jolliffe was born in Frankfurt am Main in 1986 and began playing piano at the age of seven. From the age of 10 until the beginning of his music studies, he played in various ensembles, as well as playing accompaniment at music competitions in Germany.

After leaving school, Marc studied Jazz & Popular Music and Music Education in England. During this time, he was also active as a musician in various jazz, blues, soul, rock and pop ensembles, performing all around the UK as well as aboard in mainland Europe and the US. After graduating, he continued performing and spent three years teaching music and instrumental studies at a state secondary school in the north-east of England. Most recently Marc played with Dee Expus and the Strictly Smokin’ Big Band & Soul Band in Newcastle-upon-Tyne.

Back in Germany, Marc is currently active in the Rhine-Main area as a solo artist and piano teacher. He is also involved as a pianist and keyboarder in various ensembles such as the IKS Big Band, Mayo Sugar, Der Fuchs Improvisationstheater and the acoustic trio Beatroot Whack. “Melody, groove and feel” are Marc’s top priorities in his music. As an artist, his main focus is on the audience experiencing and enjoying the music with him.
